As a small business, we understand the importance of personal connection and exceptional service.
Our sharps waste solution has saved lives since 1994
Polynor was founded by my father Odd Terje Østgaard in 1994 when he marked a bold shift in his career at the age of 55. Choosing to pursue his entrepreneurial dreams, he developed the prototype Safety Box for syringe disposal, initially tested through UNICEF. This innovative solution evolved into the Polysafe Safety Box & Incineration Container.
After his retirement in 2011, I took over the business, a proud decision. It's been very fulfilling to continue delivering our Polysafe Safety Boxes & Sharps Containers worldwide, even after 30 years.
And since then we have continuously improved the products to meet the needs in and from the market.
With these improvements and technical adaptions of the safety box, Polysafe has complied with the WHO specifications since 1998.
We prioritize and believe in building relationships over the long term with our customers and providing the highest level of support every step of the way.
At Polynor we also believe in the power of innovation and sustainability. Our mission is to answer the different markets' need for sharps disposal by offering safe, reliable, and environmentally friendly alternatives to traditional plastic containers.
Our Polysafe Safety Boxes & Sharps Containers stand out for their unique construction from recycled solid board, making them a sustainable and safe choice for healthcare facilities and professionals.
Today Polynor owns all intellectual property rights to its product as well as the trademark and copyright protection. Polynor has not transferred any of its intellectual property rights to a third party.

UN Women and Innovation Norway signed 2017 an agreement to connect Norwegian innovation and products with the needs and challenges of the humanitarian sector. Polynor was proudly presenting Polysafe Safety Boxes at the event.
Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Mette-Marit, Foreign Minister Børge Brende, Deputy Executive Director of UN Women Yannick Glemarec, CEO of Innovation Norway Anita Krohn Traaseth, and Norwegian entrepreneurs were among the participants when the agreement was signed at Skistua in Trondheim.
We travel the world to promote Polynor and our sharps containers, ensuring we are present where stakeholders and organizations gather. Recently, we've participated in events such as AidEx, FIME, and DIHAD.
We look forward to seeing you at an upcoming show or exhibition!
