Safe Disposal of Used Syringes and Needles with Polysafe Safety Boxes

Sharps and needles are considered to be of the most dangerous medical wastes. With our puncture-proof design, healthcare workers and facility staff can dispose of sharps waste safely and confidently, reducing the likelihood of accidents and injuries. This promotes a safer working environment and enhances overall safety protocols.

When using a Polysafe Safety box, remember the following to prevent needle stick injuries:

Never take the needle apart from a used syringe!

Never recap the needle!

Always dispose of the syringe and needle in the safety box immediately after use!

WHO-Approved Safety Boxes: Verified for Performance, Quality and Safety

When choosing safety boxes, it is essential to use only WHO prequalified products, as they meet rigorous performance, quality, and safety standards. The WHO PQS process ensures that these products are fit-for-purpose, even in challenging environments, providing assurance to member states and UN purchasing agencies for use in immunization programs.

Polysafe boxes are designed and manufactured to meet World Health Organization standards, ensuring simplicity, effectiveness, safety, infection control, and sustainability within global healthcare.

We have successfully passed all tests for ease of assembly and filling, needle penetration resistance, stability, spillage prevention, temperature and water resistance, handle strength, and aperture closure.

As a result of this rigorous verification process, our products meet the WHO Standard E10/SB01-VP.1 and are listed on the WHO PQS database.

Strength and Safety Combined: Polysafe Sharps Containers

A Polysafe Safety Box isn't your typical cardboard box. We use solid board because it has high strength and toughness. Unlike corrugated paper, solid board meets the high standards and specifications required for safe needle disposal.

Our sharps containers are specifically designed to prevent needle penetration, with an additional internal flap to stop syringes from falling out.

Avoid Spreading of Diseases

If the used syringes aren´t properly collected and destroyed, they can end up in the wrong hands - putting children at risk of injury and infection. In some cases, these syringes even make their way to the black market, where they are reused dangerously.

Healthcare workers, often face unsafe working conditions with a constant risk of being injured by infected needles. Without safe injection practices, this risk only increases.

Important Reminders

Always use a sterile syringe and a sterile needle for each injection!

Never reuse a disposable syringe!

Changing the needle doesn´t make the syringe safe.

Never re-use it!
